CommentsThis is very good. Nice work with the strong line underneath the forearm and hand. The highlights on the neck lead me to believe you were giving the impression of the vertebrae, almost like an x-ray overlay. Was that your intention? Bone structure in the elbow enforce the idea. I like the negative space shape on top, noticed you have that in your other drawings as well. Made me think a veil was covering her face but I'm sure that's just the strands of hair along her face playing with my eyes.

Thanks for your comment...
you state: The highlights on the neck lead me to believe you were giving the impression of the vertebrae, almost like an x-ray overlay. Was that your intention? Not really... I basically just drew what I saw in the picture, with the exception of the hair. I decided to leave that washed out for effect or as you called "Negative Space" The truth is, I was intimidated by the hair and decided to leave it out. Now I realized all my problems on this piece we basically me just using the wrong pencils for the wrong things. Now that I have purchased a larger veriety of graphite pencils there are a lot of things I would have done differently... like better blending of the neckline and completing the hair. This was still practice for me since I have been away from drawing for so long. -- Piete Always looking for tips and techniques to better myself... feel free to comment. vary good man and vary nice drawings on your gallery
